Isfahan (Esfahan, Isphahan) rugs are very finely woven using a very low cut pile. Intricate designs are made possible due to the tightness of the weave. Isfahan rugs tend to be constructed with a wool pile, but occasionally have silk highlights which catch the light and sparkle. These silk fibres can become dull over time as they become soiled, but professional rug cleaning can restore them and bring them back to life once again.

Isfahan is located in central Iran and similarities in design can be seen from Kashan and neighbouring Nain rugs. The rugs are constructed, meticulously following a design, and can take many months to weave. The high knot count means that the rugs are extremely durable and hard wearing. Colours will mellow over time, giving the rug a softer tonal appearance. As with all Persian rugs, cleaning should never be attempted in the home using detergent based solutions which could compromise the dyes. Professional cleaning would be recommended to prolong the life and maintain the appearance of these wonderful pieces of floor art.

Entrusted 2 old (25 yrs) much loved Indian/Afghan rugs to Dan to remove moth larvae and years of mummified cat sick and cat pee. The company were super responsive when I enquired online, utterly professional and the pick up/drop off service ran in an enviably reliable way! The rugs came back looking as good as new and treated for any remaining moth larvae. I am utterly delighted with the results!

Dan runs a very professional operation. He was easy to work with and clearly communicated the process of cleaning my rug and the time frame.I was blown away by the quality of the clean he was able to achieve (on a very large Moroccan rug that fills an entire room) and could not be happier that I went with Dan and the Oriental Rug Spa.I will certainly be using them again and highly recommend their services.

Fantastic service by this company.Gave a detailed quote, and offered collection and delivery of my relative's rug.Were given a collection and drop off date and time when the item was booked in, and was kept updated on time of arrival along the way.Upon dropping off, the rug was placed back in position so we didn't have to struggle with unrolling it. Was also given aftercare advice to protect the rug.Excellent job. 👌
