By carpet or rug we usually mean the knotted carpet, a particular decorative textile woven by hand on a vertical or horizontal loom. A weaving technique of knotting is used to obtain a pile that hides the supporting foundation framework. The foundation comprises of a grid formed by the crossing of horizontal strands (warps) and vertical strands (wefts). Weaving a carpet involves the creation of horizontal rows of knots across the width. Each knot is created by looping a length of yarn through wrap strands (usually two adjacent strands). The two ends of the inserted yarn are left protruding and when cut create a characteristic tuft. The many tufts formed by the rows of knots create the surface or pile of the carpet.

Dan runs a very professional operation. He was easy to work with and clearly communicated the process of cleaning my rug and the time frame.I was blown away by the quality of the clean he was able to achieve (on a very large Moroccan rug that fills an entire room) and could not be happier that I went with Dan and the Oriental Rug Spa.I will certainly be using them again and highly recommend their services.

Fantastic service by this company.Gave a detailed quote, and offered collection and delivery of my relative's rug.Were given a collection and drop off date and time when the item was booked in, and was kept updated on time of arrival along the way.Upon dropping off, the rug was placed back in position so we didn't have to struggle with unrolling it. Was also given aftercare advice to protect the rug.Excellent job. 👌
